1What is the eligibility criteria for becoming a Katalyst mentor?
A graduate of any stream in the age range of 30 to 60 with a minimum work experience of five years is eligible to register.
2How long does one have to be a mentor for?
Commitment of minimum two years is required, ideally four years. However, there is no limit to the maximum number of years one can volunteer as a mentor.
3Does the mentor have to be from an engineering background?
No, the mentorship intervention focuses on the holistic development of the mentee. A mentor’s role is quasi-parental and not of a tutor or a coach.
4How many mentees does a mentor have?
Each mentor is assigned one mentee. However if the mentor wishes, they can be assigned two mentees as well.
5How often do the mentor and mentee have to meet?
Mentor-Mentee meetings are expected to be held twice a month for one hour each. For every Mentor Interaction, the mentee earns Rs. 500 and a maximum of Rs. 4500 for a semester.
6Do the meetings have to be in person or online?
All meetings are virtual (audio/video calls). However, mentor-mentee pairs could meet physically if convenient and agreed by both.
